Border Patrol Agent Fires At Armed Militia Member

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) — The Border Patrol says an agent shot at someone near the Texas-Mexico border who later identified himself as a militia member.

McALLEN, Texas (AP) — A Border Patrol agent pursuing a group of immigrants in a wooded area near the Texas-Mexico border on Friday fired several shots at an armed man who later identified himself as a militia member.

Border Patrol spokesman Omar Zamora said agents had been chasing a group of immigrants east of Brownsville Friday afternoon when an agent saw a man holding a gun near the Rio Grande. The agent fired four shots, but did not hit the man. The man then dropped his gun and identified himself as a member of a militia. Zamora said no other details were immediately available.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio, whose agency is involved in the investigation, said the incident occurred on private property and it appeared the man had permission to be there. He was not arrested, Lucio said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was wearing camouflage and carrying a long arm that was either a rifle or shotgun, Lucio said. The agent had lost the group of immigrants when he turned around and saw the man holding the weapon.

An unknown number of militia members have come to the Texas border following a surge in illegal immigration this summer.

But Lucio said, “We really don’t need the militia here.” He recognized they have the right to carry weapons, but noted that with the Border Patrol, Texas Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement, there are enough agencies working to secure the border. Gov. Rick Perry also called as many as 1,000 National Guard members to the border.

“It just creates a problem from my point of view, because we don’t know who they are,” Lucio said.

This month, the Border Patrol warned its agents about militia members after seven of them dressed in camouflage and carrying rifles appeared out of the dark and began helping to apprehend immigrants around a canal near Mission. The agents initially mistook them for a Department of Public Safety tactical team.

Ok, they’ll fire at us but can’t fire at illegals? And no wonder they can’t stop anyone, pretty bad shots thank God……

Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas on Immigrants

Published Post author

Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907 …

“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag…We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language…And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.

It’s All About the children?

I just received an email from one of our Free Nebraska Prairie Guard, know as “Bro 2”. Here is what he wanted to share with our readers.

“It’s all about the children? 169 illegals with homicide-related CONVICTIONS released last year by ICE. Two in IA: one in Sioux City on the Nebraska border and one in Des Moines. The open border problem is here.”

Perry Speaks At Heritage

Published Post author

This is what Governor Perry had to say this morning …

It was my honor to speak at the Heritage Foundation today, where I addressed the pressing crisis posed by drug cartels, trans-national gangs and human smugglers exploiting our porous border.

To those who say what about immigration, I responded: Chaos is not the right condition for discussing long-term immigration policy. To those who wait on comprehensive immigration reform, here’s my answer: How about we start with comprehensive border enforcement.

Defending the border is not a political option. It is a constitutional obligation. That’s why Texas has stepped into the gap where Washington has failed, as I ordered both a law enforcement surge along the border, and deployment of as many as 1,000 Texas National Guard personnel.

Similarly, a lack of White House action has allowed a renewed terrorist threat to grow out of control in the Middle East. No one had heard of ISIS in January. Now they are marching across Iraq in American tanks, using American weapons and ammunition, and taking cities like Mosul and Fallujah that Americans died to secure.

The recent murder of an American photojournalist confirms the threat we face. We must confront this cancer before it spreads to America if it hasn’t already.

There is no homeland security without border security. We have come to one of those moments when American action will be decisive, and inaction just as consequential.

This is what I say tonight …

So Mr. Perry, will you act, do what it takes to secure our border in Texas, or will you speak and collect donations?

Our operations group in Texas may lend some light upon the actions that Governor Perry so strongly suggests. Time will tell the truth, and the truth shall set us free!

America Buying a Border Fence for Ukraine, But DHS Says Border Fences Don’t Work

Published Post author

Posted on 17 August, 2014 by Rick Wells

Only in the United States could the enumerated powers
and responsibilities of the Executive Branch be ignored
by the “president” while he simultaneously provides
those same protections to foreign countries around the

The latest instance of our federal hypocrisy is occurring
now, in the standoff in Ukraine. Hussein Obama’s State
Department has granted a contract for the delivery of
2,500 spools of Concertina wire to the government of
Ukraine for the purpose of securing their border with

Of course, that is a tactic that only works outside of North America. On our continent, border fences are mysteriously ineffective. At least, that is what those who are supposed to be protecting our nation have repeatedly told us.

Fences still function just fine at prison facilities, warehouses and military installations. There’s even a security fence for some
strange reason around the White House. But they would never work to keep people from crossing our open border.

The concept of border fences is so “foreign” to our federal government that whoever typed the notification even misspelled the
word security. It was probably a subconscious thing, with them just unaccustomed to seeing that word in such close proximity to
the word “border.”

The notice describes this as “urgently needed” assistance to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Maybe they’ve got Russian
children trying to break into their country. Those Ukrainians are just wasting America’s money trying to secure their country if
that’s the case. We all know there is no way to stop determined children. Once they’ve made their mind up to break into your
country, there is no option but to build detention centers, find them homes and throw money at them.

If the Ukrainians are lucky, they’ll just have to guard against the Russian military. Fencing has a chance of working if they are only trying to keep out armed foreign soldiers.

Massive Grass Fire – Southern Texas Ranch

Published Post author

by Bob Price 20 Aug 2014, 6:44 AM PDT

HOUSTON, Texas — A group of illegal aliens and their smuggler started a massive grass fire on a ranch in South Texas after being pursued by agents from the U.S. Border Patrol. The fire began at the end of a chase when the car carrying the illegal aliens left the roadway in what is known as a bailout. The car came to a stop on some dry grass and caught fire from the heat of the exhaust system as the occupants scattered into the brush.

Brooks County Fire 1

The fire began on the La Copa Ranch which is located just south of the U.S. Border Patrol’s Falfurrias Checkpoint. This is an area known for illegal immigrants being smuggled to be dropped off to sneak around the checkpoint. Border Patrol agents were pursuing three suspicious vehicles in the southbound lane of Highway 281 when one of the vehicles left the roadway and got stuck in the soft sand according to Brooks County Sheriff’s Deputy Elias Pompa. “The tall grass in the area had recently been cut,” Pompa said. “It was very dry and quickly caught fire.”

Temperatures in the area have been reaching over 100 degrees this week and twenty to thirty mile-per-hour winds have been blowing from the south and west. “The fire quickly spread to about 200 acres,” said Brooks County Chief Deputy Benny Martinez. “Firefighters from Falfurrias and several surrounding agencies are working hard to quickly attempt to contain the fire. Some of the fire trucks and firefighters traveled over 100 miles to help Brooks County.”

“At this point it is not believed that any homes or structures are in danger,” Martinez told Breitbart Texas, “but that could change quickly.”

The illegal aliens who bailed out of the vehicle that started the fire were quickly rounded up by Border Patrol Agents. It is not known, however if other immigrants might be already trekking through the ranchlands in their attempt to bypass the checkpoint. It would be difficult for them to move out of the way of the fire if they end up in its path.

This year, 48 illegal immigrants have died from dehydration and exposure in these ranchlands south of Falfurrias.

Texas or Russia?

Published Post author

Just a few minutes ago, I received the following email message from our site host, Lory Storm, She has given me permission to post it to the site along with her photos … Randy May, site administrator.

Randy, I’m between Laredo and McAllen texas meeting with some contacts. It’s like Russia down here. We just passed 2 hotels where more than 40 state troopers were parked along with several federal vehicles. We stopped to take photos, which I will forward to you. A trooper pulled out to block the exit and we just went out another way. Then another one pulled out immediately and pulled is over. Wanted to know what we’re doing in texas. He lied to us, told us we were speeding, when we ABSOLUTELY WEREN’T. In any case he wanted to know who we were and why we were taking pictures but wouldn’t tell us that. Scary down here.

Ps. Will let u know ASAP when anything more happens

Militia Q&A

Published Post author

In a recent email from Nebraska Leaders List, the following I thought was worth posting here on

There were several questions after last week’s email discussing the possibility of a militia in Nebraska. I’ll rearrange the order of answers for clarity.
“Militia is a harsh word with negative connotations.” Point taken, so substitute the purpose: “security”, self-protection”, “defense”, “safeguard”. Take away the emotion and it’s a positive term.
We have an out-of-control executive branch, using force to control what happens.
Our government structure provides the power stop it but it appears unlikely that will happen.
Nebraska’s protection from external threats depends on that national government.
We may find ourselves unprotected from the increasing chaos.
So we’re not going to dwell on a potential threat but it would be naive to think it can’t happen.
What about the Nebraska state militia? Numerous attempts have been made to contact them. No response.
Is the governor involved? He is, with the formal, state militia. This project will be shaped by the people involved.
Why do we have people in Texas? First, the border is in chaos. The border patrol has appreciated the help from militia groups. But the feds in general are doing worse than nothing. They are actually clearing areas that allow the cartels to operate unrestricted in Texas and Arizona. (First-hand information like that is one of the benefits of people on site.) So first, we help Texas. Second, with that fed policy it’s likely the chaos will spread. It’s an opportunity to learn and understand, just in case.
I can’t go because of finances, family, my job, etc. – Only a relative few are needed to actually go. There are lots of ways to be involved here at home. But it’s critical that a few go, to gain experience and knowledge working with others. So if you can’t go, support those who can.
This will be an ongoing effort. The 2nd Texas team comes back this week. A 3rd goes back early September. We also have an individual going to the AZ border. No teams needed there for now.

Molon Labe – Where Did It Originate?

Published Post author

The origin of Molon Labe.

These words were spoken at the battle of Thermopylae in 480BC,
one of the most famous battles in history. As the Greek army, under the command of King Leonidis, attempted to hold the city of Thermopylae it became readily apparent that they were significantly outnumbered by Xerxes army of Persians which totaled near 300,000, while the Greeks had only 7,000 soldiers.

Even so, the Greeks held off the Persians for 7 days by
blocking the only road by which the massive Persian army could pass. Then, a local resident betrayed his people and showed Xerxes another way around the massive valley.

Knowing that his army now faced annihilation, Leonidas released all but 300 Spartans and stood to face the Persians.

Xerxes sent a messenger to Leonidas on the eve of the attack of the 300 to deliver the message that if the Spartans would lay down their weapons and serve the Persians, Xerxes would spare their lives. Leonidas’ answer?

Molon Labe, come and take them!

The Greeks were eventually overcome, although they did significant damage to the army of Xerxes and managed to save the city of Athens by delaying the Persians arrival. The people of Athens evacuated to the Island of Salamis. The Greeks later would be victorious at Salamis and the Battle of Plataea.

You may recall the movie “The 300”. It was loosely based on the Battle of Thermopylae.!
